Array ( [sid] => 150545 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Telephonophobia [time] => 2009-06-08 05:27:30 [hometext] => Telephonophobia - a fear of phones. Sound silly but its real for me. I'm ok texting and at work (after putting it off for ages). Inspiration for this comes from when a friend (who didn't know) tried to call. I'm hoping this explains a bit about it. [bodytext] => I have telephonophobia
Which means I am scared of phones
And I'm sorry that I have let you down my dear
Maybe one day I'll drop you a line, who knows?

This is how i am, how I've always been
and it has took me until now to realise
the fear I have, makes me come off as mean
but I'm not, I promise, I'll always compromise

I'm ok on the net or even face to face
But when it comes, to making a call
My heart starts to think, I'm in a race
and my mind thinks, of nothing at all

I know its just an irrational fear
Which makes me panic and cry
My telephonophobia
It makes me wonder why?

You see, I don't just not like phones
It's much worse than that
When I hear its constant tone
I suffer a panic attack

First my heart starts to pump faster
Then my hands begin to shake
To breathe, it gets harder and harder
And panic spreads across my face.

I thought I could handle it
When we planned for you to call me
But I woke up and started to panic
So I turned my phone off, I'm sorry

I have been trying to find a cure
And I know one day I will
I've tried counselling, hypnosis and more
Now this mountain I'm climbing is just a hill.

I need you to know one thing
I really do like you
But please don't ring
And don't give up on me, I'll ring you!

I have telephonophobia
I will get over it,
maybe next week,
next month, or next year.
But I will get over it
And when I do
Your phone will ring [comments] => 2 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 43 [informant] => MissAnnonymous [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 6 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

This relates not only to 'telephonophobia', but to many different 'mountains' as well. Well written, and from the heart!

I can definitely relate but not as bad. I HATE talking on the phone, calling people having them call me, so I compromise with my friends and family and text A LOT
