I stumble with eyes open and fall, as silent as a secret,
into the pit of your world -

It is dark with your weeping, a graveyard of massacred innocence.

I sink shamelessly into your tragic mud, and
remember my own -

| we are broken in the same places,

longing for phantoms we cannot touch |

I am suffocated by my thoughts,
the horrid swelling of them,
the rain they threaten with.

My eyes have forgotten such shattering.

I had accepted my life devoid of passion,
sacrificed my human hunger for requitted love and validation,

I was the perfect husk, silent
and at peace with its suffering.

Then your words came and spilled themselves
with all their reckless agonies, their nameless beauty,

burrowed under my placcid surface,
and kissed my dreaming corpse of a soul.

we became poetry,

breath to hollow lungs, and
for once I was happy to be alive because
you were the reason my heart wept so beautifully,
and I was the reason yours sung its symphonies
after so much silence.

we transformed into the phantoms we had chased nightly,
and touched like newborns.

Resurrected from deadened sleep -

we writhe.

Stephy, I am enchanted by your work. It pierces me so very deeply. With
each and every metaphor, I am lost inside your world of poetic anguish
and melancholic longing. It is heart ripping, and SO tragically beautiful.
You inspire me, my love.

Do NOT put down your pen. Ever! And it is so damn good to
see you posting with some regularity again.

I've missed you so.

Wow!

*salutes insomnia*

So much passion. Darkness and beauty. Yearning... inspiration.

and then

wow again.

Like Roxie, I've missed you.

You poetry is a reason why, not the reason, just one of them.

I too get swept up in your writings, they really make me think, and I just love your ideas and the way the whole thingjust works.

Good write, my friend, it's good to have you back again :)

I was told by my Kindred Sister to look
for you and now I'm SO glad that I did!
This is such a deep and ethereal piece
as haunting as it was beautiful! There
were SO many lines that just grabbed me,
including, but not limited to:

"I am suffocated by my thoughts,
the horrid swelling of them,
the rain they threaten with."

I had accepted my life devoid of passion,
sacrificed my human hunger for requitted love and validation,

I was the perfect husk, silent
and at peace with its suffering."

This is just such a glorious piece. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us.

Be well,
~Loende
