| It is our duty as Americans to help those in need..those people are definately in need. It is your duty to respect the president in his decision. Yes we are at war..shall we start one here at home as well too? This war is not over oil..what a cliche that is becoming. We could have hollered victory at Pakistan and taken over their oil fields if that were the case. This is about protecting the innocent. Have you been watching the news? Have you seen the cheers coming from the iraqi's? Have you seen them ripping down that horrid mans picture? Have you seen the glimmer of hope in their eyes when they realize that maybe..just maybe they may be free? I have. Been watching it from the beginning. Its' sickening to think that 5000 lil children were dying there each and every month. That ppl were being tortured. And do you know why that was happening? Because Saddam was bored. Oh gee...what a good reason. Let us not forget the lives that were lost in the US on 9-11..was he bored that day too? He and Bin Laden have instilled fear in the lives of their ppl. In their country..you would have been tortured and brutally murdered for this poem you have written here....freedom is a wonderful thing...I for one support our troops..that is what they need right now..Sorry to rant and rave on you but the protesting is starting to get to me...Be patriotic!! Be happy!! Be supportive..and thank God above that the millions of ppl in Iraq will finally be free! |

i agree with lia, but the wars must stop,,to many people are dieing because of stupidy of wars,,,
i'm a american,,and it stands for freedom,,and not to let anyone hurt us,,its what the bible says,,wars and rumours,,its destined to happen,,believe in it,,we dint want the wars neither,,but to suvive we will,,a friend in words,,spooky |

i agree with lia, but the wars must stop,,to many people are dieing because of stupidy of wars,,,

| Do you even know wht this wars about, has your leader ever thrown acid on you or your family, or used gas on your close relatives, has your leader ever invaded other countries at your expense, has he ever killed you if you mention exile and his name in the same paragraph? You have no idea what this war is about. Try living under these conditions before you accuse Bush of fighting a war with no cause. |

not everything is as it seems..this is more than a fight for oil...it is about oppression and killing of ones own people...Hitler was left alone for too long and look how many died...although i do not believe in war and have a great respect for life...this is something that needs to be done and i believe in my country and stand by it's president.

Despite what we think protesting the war should be over. The war is on. We are standing behind our troops and our President. Isn't it bad enough we are at war in other places and now this is causing a division of us here in the United States?
United ponder the word.

| Dear Gina,I completly agree with u!who the hell BUSH thinks he is to take such decisions?if pple in iraq rnt satisfited from their president they can change him by making revolutions or whatever....but it s not for him to decide instead of them maybe they r happy like that...I only wish that GOD will make him pay for killing innocent pple... |

| I have to ask...are you serious?? I mean are you absolutely serious? I mean..for crying out loud..listen to your self..but ohhhhhhhh I bet ya the shoe would sure be on the other foot if your leader was torturing you. I take it by one of your other poems you have children..how would you like it if your leader was starving your children?? Or maybe torturing your mother. And nothing you could do about it but ask for help from a different country..would you then want us to sit on our hands and for Bush to just sit back and let you die?? Sheesh open your eyes for crying out loud. Oh and maybe ..just maybe you have forgotten that fact that Saddam does in fact have weapons of mass destruction..he has in fact used them..ON HIS OWN PPL!!..and..he was planning on using them on everyone..including you!! Oh..but let's just allow it...Hell I don't care if my country gets attacked by those unbelievable cruel weapons..YEA RIGHT!..wake up..open your eyes...and..your damn right I support Bush..but you know what else..I support the troops..and I also support the British troops..and their leader as well...not to mention the over 44 other countries who are on our side with this. Another comment on the same subject, boy if we got bored, how can the politiciens stand it!.
The whole world can never live without wars and killings, it's in human's blood, it always have been, now we denie that fact, but remember everytime you feel mad about someone and you wish you can just smash his face off.
This is a little different, you'll be smashing the face and getting some intrests out of that action, oh yes, the oil plants, no one can denie that!, you tell me Pakistan or whatever country, well they do have that wealth but they don't run the world the way they want, Saddam does, oh by the way I am with the war, Iraq was selling arms and bombs to the militias in my country so they keep killing each other and I bet Iraqi's people wasn't feeling bad about it, they actually went out on the streets in 1990 or so, everyone thoght they were protesting against the bloodshed, turned out to be over football, it was world cup back then, so today it is my turn to sit back and watch the news, let me just add one thing, if America cares for the civilians with no return, just because Mr.Bush is too kind and has the heat of a child, then why the hell did they leave us under the Syrian mandate? oh I'll tell you why, because we have to wealth for President Rigan back then to exploit so he just sold us up and told Syria "yeah do what you please", the world my friends is not stupid, the future won't be mercyful, I dare to stand up against my own country for what his ruler does, I got beat up and prisoned for that so did alot of patriots, now it is your turn to say that your ruler is wrong, this war is forced on him alright, but not by time or consequences, but because of the Jewish and Israelis leaders that have a dream of having controle over the whole region, well my voice won't make a difference anyway, after all Lebanon don't exist on your maps, really, check it up on CNN they have Syria Israel and Jordani but Lebanon never exist, lack of inc I presume.

| I don't agree with the idea of going to war, yet I feel that it is necessary to do so. I can't bear the thought of innocent people gettting hurt or worse, getting killed. Some people don't realize the seriousness of this war. Yesterday, I was in a coffee shop and I overheard these men talking about how happy they were that the innocent people in Iraq were going to get killed. They said to "shoot their god-damn heads off." They don't understand what's going on over there, how many people are starving and dying every day. They think that going to war will be fun. People like this don't deserve to live in America. I don't like the thought of going to war, but it might be the only thing that will free the people from Saddam and all his cruelty. |

Let me be the typical Canadian in all of this and you can boo me and burn my flag if you like that's your choice. You see that's what we have is freedom. Freedom to have a voice andstate an opinion and freedom to choose our own sides in matters like this. What bothers me most of all is the distance that is formed between the people who have different ideas.
I think we need to accept the fact that not everyone will agree with the choices we make or the beliefs we hold. From there let's take it one step further and discuss the issues instead of filling our hearts with hate for one another let's find peace instead. You blame the leaders for going to war but the attitude I've seen here so far isn't much better. Instead of fighting over who's right, why not set an example of peace for others to follow. It starts with you, one person CAN make a difference.
War for any reason is wrong, unfortunately it is sometimes neccessary. Is this war neccessary, I honestly don't know but I do know I'm not going to hate someone because they have strong feelings one way or the other about it. Instead I am going to try and understand why they feel the way they do. I think you'll find we all have more in common than you suspect.
