[title] => the Thanksgiving Plum
[time] => 2008-11-26 20:36:58
[hometext] => A kids poem i wrote about the biggest plum i have ever seen ... hehe ...
[bodytext] => There once was a plum As big as can be It hung alone on a branch Of a very small tree It’s weight bent the tree Right down the ground And this is where The huge plum was found One day a small girl Her name Molly Sue Found the plum and knew just what to do She took it straight home To her father and brother And it fed them all Even her mother When the plum was all gone They planted the pit And there grew a tree Under which you could sit. Now once every year On a branch near the top Grows a pumpkin-size plum So BIG it should pop. It ripens completely ‘round Thanksgiving time, and to get the plum down the tree dad must climb He cradles the plum in a sling made from ropes. “Get it down safely!” is what Molly Sue hopes Friends-family and neighbors all gather together They come from all over no matter the weather Molly Sue’s family truly is blessed Because of a plum pit, who would have guessed?
