[title] => A Year Ago Today
[time] => 2008-07-13 16:16:49
[hometext] => After many months of writing I met my beautiful Finnish penpal in person. Events unfolded starting with the train station. This story is already a year old...
[bodytext] => A year ago today I so anxiously awaited For a train to cease moving For an open aisle clearing My view added only stress As trees obscured all things As I began to walk I wondered Had all this really happened? The sun welcomed me warmly and eased any further questions Then I saw you sitting there Wondering how this really happened Brief was the sobering reflection Warm smiles and pictures embraced me Greetings from a world away Already yearning for a longer stay It was here our moment forever One dream found us both Conquered our doubt together Liberated through childish hope We set out for days unique to us Days unlike our entire history Balancing the moment with necessity We drove north on a quiet trip The beauty of Finland remains with me Images of it content under shining sun Peering through your window The world felt big again. Fine company offers comfort There was no exception with yours Sharing stories with different settings Identifying new friends within hours So much at a cottage is minimal But never lacking sincerity Honest time without distractions Truly enjoyed whole heartedly The days were to our benefit Holding light long into night Providing more moments for memories Grateful for each and every one Despite long days and horizon lit dark Time continued by forcing our departure Had it really been so brief That already I stare behind me Much quieter the return For no one wanted to leave Already destined for a train Though this one leads away We were hidden from the world If only for a couple days Now forced to realize I was never meant to stay Your touch was soft and warm Holding a girl enthralled in dreams Our hearts were never nearer I don't know how you felt Driving home that morning I only hope joy remained To keep your dreams ongoing With my window toward the city I whispered goodbye to your home Slowly the train pushed away And quickly felt alone A year has passed already Even dreams endure the seasons Through Autumn, Winter, Spring I think of you beyond reason Still a world away But not a year ago today [comments] => 1 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 24 [informant] => Thorin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )
