As the same blood in tears does form
Just as rain does fall from darkened skies
Upon the wind of a passing storm

A stone-hinged heart peers through a bleeding soul
As windows open up to let in the rain
As anger flows and thunder through the heavens roll
Walls crumble and crack as the weary mind goes insane

From those eyes a crimson river continually does flow
As standing on the shore watching storm clouds roll back in
This ocean of anger and pain ever continues to grow
Where nothing ever ends and nothing new seems to begin

Through my eyes the outside world so easily do they see
As white capped waves against the walls of my mind collide
It can no longer be concealed deep within the heart of me
And all I can say with my last breath is that I tried

Knowing where to look but unable to see the path
Upon myself I unleash my wrath

For a poem about anger and pain this is surprisingly beautiful. Not so sure about persistently using the image of bleeding eyes though it is a good one..But particularly like the vastness and mysteriousness of these lines: 'Where nothing ever ends and nothing new seems to begin' and
'As white capped waves against the walls of my mind collide'
cheers,
SC

Your last line "Upon myself I unleash my wrath" is so true! People who hurt do take their anger out on themselves.

Rich,
Another powerful piece. Well written. Some times the best thing is to let it out and not keep it burried. Do not unleash on yourself if it is not warranted. Glad to see the post.

Rich,
this is a tear jerker, you and I are a lot alike in this way.
We at times can be our own worst enemy. I am finding ways to fix it, I will share some things. It is hard at first but as time goes by it makes sense and it becomes easy to put into place.

I agree we cannot unleash on others, (we both know this) we also cannot unleash on ourselves.
Ocean of anger...... that is so solid, I relate to that also.
Lately mine has been tears though but that comes from stuffing so many things it has to surface somewhere.

Profound and incredible write.

Hugs
Michelle

As I have read many angry poems from you, I would like to read your poetry after you forgive yourself and let go of your anger. If you write like this when you are down on yourself, I could only imagine what wonderful lines you would write when you are happy. Great write..........Mike
