And no one cared as I cried
In daylight I can find no rest
For I do best in the cool eventide
As the sun’s rays encroach upon me
I shrink back into the shades of night
Darkness is what I long to see
For none but those heavenly orbs understand my plight
With the Left Eye of Ra always upon my breast
Comfortable when enshrouded in darkness
Opening only to Him the hole in my chest
For He can ease my loneliness
Long hours I spend with my friend
But soon his flight shall end
I gaze upon the Moon for one last look
In all its brilliance I am not even half as beautiful
Trying to retrieve what they took
Of my pain I am once again mindful
The Right Eye of Ra is slowly rising
Bringing with it a light that burns
My emptiness only leaves me crying
I slip away to hide as the night turns

Note: The Two Eyes of Ra (The Two Divine Eyes: Utchatti) Are the Sun (Right Eye) and Moon (Left Eye); Aten and Aah respectively.

Breath taking write. I felt your sadness too.
I am again a broken doll wishing the moon was out tonight. So I will bask in the silence of the rain and candle light.

You are shining like the moon and do not let anyone take it away from you hun. We lose a bit of ourselves along the way to pain and hurt and woes but nothing can ever put out the flame or take the fresh scent from the rose!!

Huge hugs

Michelle
