this child, just three
how in the world was
she bestowed upon me?

wake up in the morning
"mama, i'm hungry"
beautiful blue eyes
search my soul; they find me

we rise from our slumber
this toddler and me
kisses and hugs
more comfort, you see

"please read me a book"
my daughter, she pleads
porcelain skin, like her mom
makes my heart bleed

a genius, this little one
her mind like a fox
amuses herself
be it a crayon or a box

twilight, it approaches
much to my dismay
my angel, she says
"mommy, have a nice day!"

off to work i go
thoughts of my love in my head
my precious little audrey
daddy tucks her into bed

in through the door
i see her sleeping
my beautiful baby
my heart just keeps weeping

i miss my baby
want all time spent with her
this beautiful child
my precocious little daughter

i'll be here, my baby
when you do awake
and into my arms
you i shall take... [comments] => 5 [counter] => 216 [topic] => 55 [informant] => LadyDama [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

wow, Lady...that takes my breath away. I'M SO JEALOUS! its good to know that there are people like you who cherish what you have, someone so precious and new, without a care in the world, so free. She is very lucky to have a mother like you. :O)
