Laid barren wasteland all that was once invigorated by the dew of untainted bond
Dwelling now on the open plains of exposed vulnerability
No shelter, withering form that was once pristine

Cloaked, choked in the smog filled tunnel of despair
Every direction blind, nails scrape unscalable walls of uncertainty
The future is a shroud, wrapped tight around my face
Unable to focus through the misty and blurred.

Society clasps my hands behind my back, forces the facade
One face Jekyll, one face Hyde, for public and private times
You see the swan, serene, untroubled, countenance of calm
Masquerading thrashing in the whirlpool underneath

Who will repaint my canvas, daub new hues on my world?
The brush in my hand is useless, it now shades only grey
My picture dim, weary watercolours blend into the nothingness
Where is the artist who has the skill, to renew my faded colours ? Fate will repaint your canvas, and the artist within will eventually reemerge.

Wonderful poem! xxx
