i was a different person
young, jaded,
full of an intense ache, a desire
not for money, or fame
"love me" i had screamed to my father
that's all it ever needed to be
so i came to rest in my sanctuary, here
i found you

you inspired me, elevated me
when i imagine you, i imagine
a man, eyes full of the things only time
can bring
hands and heart, worn

a time my writing stopped, almost all together
harsh words and a time spent imprisoned
they tried to feed me pills there, tied me down
scientific tests administered, killed my spirit
nightmares about that, still, even now
don't know if i ever really told you,
but now i guess you know

later, i was loved and happy, i changed
shed my shell and bloomed
delicate wings testing the air-
changed in name, and in form
you were there, still

i just wanted you to know-
no true horror fades
that of flickering fluorescent lights and needles still
tears me to shreds
but with the one i love
held and comforted, my best friend
i find i don't dwell on it as much

inlovewithaladd,

Kindred Spirits are rarities. They are genderless and ageless. They are like discovering carbon copies of yourself; recreations...perhaps this is the phenomenon that inspired the concept of reincarnation. Whatever. When discovered, they are treasured and provide a good use for the velcro which naturally exists within our heart, soul, mind and spirit!

Enigma means something like a difficult to explain oddity. That's why I chose it as my handle. In this sick and ailing world, it's difficult, but healthy, not to fit in, not to accept the status quo, to demand answers and not platitudes, to be a little twitch in the face of impossible odds! You're a scrapper with a very tender heart; a bit of an enigma, like me.

Blessings always...

ron...enigma

this poem spoke to me because it was only recently i met a guy who at first glance i couldnt tollerate. yet i gave him a chance..turns out we're so alike its like im looking in a mirror that makes me a guy....its freaky to the point he was born the day after me in the same year

but i recently moved a rather large distance from him and i feel so lost..

anyway... your poem is wonderful even in its darkness it was a pure delight to read...

Dri...InLoveWithaLad...WHERE ARE YOU? I am tearing up just remembering you...cyber-world be damned! Our souls touched...for a few brief months...years...our spirits knew each other...where are you? Kindred Spirits are Kindred Spirits forever. This side of the ether, or the other, I will not find peace until I once again find you...enigma
