I've stood before the bodies
of the dying and the dead
Wondering how we've gotten
to this place that we've been led
Looking for the reasons
though none could I find
Lost within confusion
of a doubtful worried mind
As tears of bitter sorrow
stream down upon my face
followed cries of anger
that feel so out of place

And as I search the far horizons
no angels do I see
it seems that heavens host
has taken this time to flee
To leave us all to wonder
and wander the path of fate
And left it to ourselves
to rid our hearts of hate
To try and find the answers
of why we stand and bleed
To fill our hungered wanting
and quench this human need
To look beyond the sorrow
in search of better days
And hope to find tomorrow
and change our killing ways.

A very dark, hopeless feeling comes from this poem. But very appropriate for the subject matter. What a crazy world we live in. Too bad there are so many who are determined to stand in the way of peace. Wonderful write.

Very well written piece. For years and years man has had this need to fight, conquer and be superior. I hope one day humanity shall change and all we would know would be PEACE. Such a wonderful thing and really so easy.
Much peace to you,
Laura
