Array ( [sid] => 13602 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Beautiful Snow [time] => 2003-03-02 01:40:00 [hometext] => This is a memory from the '40's when I was a child on our farm in Kansas. [bodytext] => The snow softly fell through the soft gray day...
And all night long, as in beds we lay;
When this morning we woke from our cozy warm night,
Our hearts leaped with joy at the beautiful sight!
Daddy was grumpy,... must be something he ate;...
Don't know why he won't look at this snow thats so great!
Everything thats in sight is covered with snow,...
And the sun, as its rising, just makes it all glow.
All the world is clean and sparkling white;...
A miracle of God, heaped high through the night.
Mama likes to bake on a day such as this;
Our kitchen's good smell will be heavenly bliss.
We'll get a dishpan full of clean white snow...
Before we tumble and make tracks where we go.
We'll help Mama turn the snow to ice cream,...
Vanilla,.. eggs,.. sugar,.. Its a yummy dream!
Daddy will like the ice cream we make;...
We'll stand 'round the fire if we shivver and shake.
Though Daddy's feet, hands, and nose are cold,
The warmth in his heart could never be told.
When he comes in from the cold and the snow...
We'll hug him and kiss him; how his eyes will glow!
After steamy hot cocoa and Mama's warm buttered bread,...
Again, we'll be snuggled down deep in our bed,...
But we must look outdoors at the night 'fore we go...
At the twinkle of stars in the beautiful snow.

This poem glows with a warmth as the snow is cold.
Lovely poem.
