"A penny for your thoughts, "

my love

she asked of me,

and so i kissed her on her cheek

and whispered

quietly.

I shall tell thee all i know

of days and nights gone by,

when i was young and loved you so

and you were sweet and

shy.

A penny?

no that wouldn't do perhaps a dollar bill,

for every thing i feel for you

would reach the highest

hill.

No you keep the penny

for you my thoughts are free,

much more than that i'd owe to you

just for loving

me.

"A penny for your thoughts",

my love said with a smile,

i gently took her in my arms and held her

for

awhile.

The same way that i held her

that night on cape cod bay,

making love upon the shore

until the light of

day.

" A penny for your thoughts,"

my love said teasingly, with that smile

that drove me wild along with melting

me.

Let's go to bed i softly said

with you

i'll take my time,

to hell with pennies and a thought

we'll read each other's

mind.

OMG Ben, How do you do this...write these beautiful words...they just seem to come to you so very easily. I loved the entire write as always but that last stanza just sizzled. *you the man*

a nickle for a kiss...

Beautiful and it dances across the readers heart as pure angel dust of love. Splendid and the smoothest love song I have ever heard.
