Third time on this lonely weekend
Out of town with him
I pick it up, I'm tryin hard not to cry
As I hear your restless voice mumble
This is his girlfriend...

And you have every right to know
'Cause this has all happened before

You should probably know he's been with me
And I should tell you that he tells me he loves me
Every now and then
From time to time
But it's hard knowin' that I'm less than I could be
"Second Fiddle" like you said that I would be
'Cause somehow I know
What's in the back of his mind
He's missin' you again
So I'm runnin' out of time

I'm sick of what we have become
And all because he's still with you
I'm not doin' this to hurt him anymore
Don't you know kills him when you walk out that door?
I don't know why I'm here
Only takin' all that's offered to me
No better than what you've always thought of me

And you have every right to know
But I won't tell you, 'cause I need him more

And you should probably know he runs to me
Every time you tell him he's worth nothing
I should tell you
That you're on his mind
And it's hard knowin' that I'm less than I could be
"Second Fiddle" like you said that I would be
'Cause I know somehow you're still on his mind
He's missing you again
That means I'm running out of time

Won't you keep him happy for me
Save us all some heartache please
The only reason that I'm here is you're not with him right now
Don't you know I love him
More than he'll ever think of me
But I'm nothin more to him than what you let him make of me
