like a shadow
is like a fish
discussing the wetness of water,
or an Eagle describing the feel
of lofty air
meandering through
ruffled feathers,
and flowing between
war-torn talons;
tabled,
fabled,
cognitively abled
to soar above the monolith
and make the people wonder if
their justices swift
and budgets stiff
are keeping the world from going to *****.

A necropolis of abandoned Bones
the landmark of our fated lives,
spineless skeletons,
nameless gravestones,
embodying the perfect mistake
that ruined the dream.

In every haven darkness swirls,
like jaded smoke the blank name curls,
instilling terror in the boys
and shrieks in the girls,
within their oysers lie the pearls;
faceless ghouls,
voyagers comandeering careful conduits never before conquered,
driving their flagtitious flags
into the hearts of their children,
soullessly spooking supporters into shivering submission,
revealing a fear
they know is true
but would prefer you to think
it as unpatriotic.
a flippant flourish
of unwanted haste
that sends the masses to war,
armed only with their thoughts
and convenient lies,
expected to triumph,
or never come home,
a meer sacrifice, the young,
fighting the battles of the old.

I wish I had a scissors
large enough to cut these puppets free,
I wish I had the balls to tell them all to go to Hell,
I wish I had an Eagle to fly away on. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 32 [informant] => proudestmonkey [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I thought this was a pretty good poem, especially the parts about war. Some nice lines.

I am going to read it through once more and ponder on it a moment. I loved the part of the Eagle, the final stanza is so powerful.
Great job
