don’t allow death to end life’s
music, that enveloping sound all
living sing to have been, to be, to
become. when textured melodies
depart in the wake of soul’s
stilled breath, fill their silence.

don’t let songs end on notes of
hatred and massacre. become the
dead and sing away sorrow; weep
new tears over having known
rather than having lost. honor
the dead with your song.

hush the silence left behind,
bring back their smiling lives,
sing for the dead.

Wow, I hesitated to read this because it seems everyone is writing about this and it's mostly the same old song and dance (no offense to anyone). But this encapsulates the better sentiments of the situation. It beautifully pays tribute to the victims and it also screams for a responsibility of how this tragedy has been depicted. The news has been so busy promoting this that they have brought more attention to the killer than the victims. Your work shines with so much in so few lines! WELL DONE!
