old love letters,
held among dust and ribbons.

Winds blow through paneless
windows, cold stills the day.
Years were held,
empty hands,
hearts forever wait.

She dreamed alone....
dreams had not changed the day.
Prayed alone...
and know its hard to be alone.

Feel a winter heart,
gathering of leaves rush
from abandon corners
disturb nothing, what years have claimed.

Silent I return the rose,
gently close the door.

Believe she dances
this once lit cabin
still........Vincent

Vincent, my friend this was so softly beautiful. Like
the ray of a sunbeam drenching your face in the dead of
winter. A pure and pleasant piece of warmth.

A lovely embrace of nostalgia washes over me as I
read. Touchingly sweet.

Wonderful that an old abandoned cottage should inspire such a beautiful poem.
The words are so gentle, I can imagine this occurring by candlelight or as evening draws in.
Beautifully nostalgic,

Dom

As I read your poem slowly, I savored every single word, like a reverent journey.

Your inspiration and the capacity to write in such a creative fashion, is not only your signature but a gift.

"Feel a winter heart,
gathering of leaves rush
from abandon corners
disturb nothing, what years have claimed"

I have re-read this several times and I am drawn to this stanza. I wish I had thought of it!

An excellent poem.

Kye
