Then I wouldn't have fell
For your stories of true love.
How you sold them to me well.
Because if you really loved me,
You wouldn't have left me while ill,
Or while I was begging at your feet
For you to love me still.
You would have paid more attention
To me than your computer.
You wouldn't have stayed up all night...
Looking for a better suiter.
I would have been a priority
In your eyes, number one.
Instead your words killed me,
As if shooting me with a gun.
But you didn't finish the job
Because here I am still crying.
Longing for your love
Inside, slowly dying.
I have no remorse
Because I did nothing wrong.
Even though I lashed out at you
My words shooting long.
They only came after you ended
And kicked me while down.
Viscious words to protect me...
As if to pluck thorns from my crown.
An iron clad gate, fastened around
My fragile heart, broken.
I cut you with words
That should've remained unspoken.
I had to protect myself.
I'd rather feel anger than pain.
But it's hard to stay angry
When I long for your touch again.
I can't sleep at night
Because you're in my head.
I toss and turn all night...
Thrashing around in the bed.
How do I turn off
Six years of loving you?
I wish I could see the future....
For I wouldn't be sitting her playing the fool. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 228 [topic] => 22 [informant] => sena [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )
