I stand quietly in the corner, as you start to fall.
You're realizing my pain, and it's bleeding from your soul.
I never wanted to hurt you, that was not my goal.
But I became invisible, and you couldn't see.
You didn't comprehend, the pain that consumed me.
I've been swallowed whole, by my own torturing night.
You offered your hand, but I don't want the light.
Now your hands hide, the tears on your face.
And you're wondering how, you even got to this place.
As you start to think, you begin to see.
That what's happening, just isn't meant to be.
As I come out of the corner, I slide down to my knee.
Wishing you didn't hurt, but glad that you could see.
You're not alone now, I'm here with you.
We'll go through everything, old as well as new.
I want you by my side, I need to hold your hand.
As we walk together through this strange land.
I won't stray from our path, and I won't hide.
Only next to you, will I abide.
Take my hand, and I'll erase your fears.
Let me hold your soul, and you will have no more tears.

This almost has the feel that you are speaking to the person from the afterlife...through a spirit of comfort......Let me hold your soul, and you will have no more tears. As though through your death he finally understands.....That what's happening, just isn't meant to be. Am I reading this as per the intention of the write? Well done and very deep.
