Array ( [sid] => 132531 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => LUCKY [time] => 2007-03-09 10:31:24 [hometext] => LUCKY what does it really mean? Lucky to win? Lucky to have missed it? Lucky to be ALIVE? [bodytext] => Lucky.......

As I wake, and my eyes are drawn to the blue skies outside
I wonder what my day will bring, will I shout for joy?... or hide?
Luck is what I need right now, good times, a lottery win?
That would make me shout for joy, and feel real good within .....

I'd buy a nice new sparkly car, and maybe a larger home,
I'd get all my contact numbers and all my friends and family phone...
I'd share a little money with each and every one,
I'd try to do it fairly, yet not be left with "none!"

I'd give some to a charity, well actually three or four
Alzheimer's, Premature babes, CANCER that's for sure ...
I'd give some to my local church, just to show I care
Just because I don't attend, it may show that I'm still there...

Oh how lucky I would be to win, some millions just right now
I know just what I'd do with it, enjoy such luck, and how!
I'd be singing with the fairies, dancing with the trolls
Paying all my long term bills, achieving long lost goals

But wait.... Is that truly what I want?...What my heart desires?
What happens when its all long gone? does the luck expire?
Luck? what does that really mean? and can we make our own?
Many people do you know, many more have shown.

Today I had a phonecall, it was from my elder sis
She showed me luck has many forms and you should all hear this...
Three months ago,she,... terminally ill, unable to even walk
Just barely to communicate and tho very tiring talk ......

Was LUCKY to have caught in time this Cancer which had returned
Radiotheropy instead of Chemo LUCKY we have learned
Medication instead of Radio, just how LUCKY can she be?
She gets to spend some extra time with her little sis ... yes mee!

We cannot make it go away... for good I'm sad to say
But we're LUCKY we have far more time, than just another day
Each day, each hour, seconds too, LUCKY we now appreciate ....
And how LUCKY, we were to find out now, before it was too late ...

I would trade in any LUCK atall, in any manner.... form
If I thought that this kind of LUCK would give her back her life..... re born
I AM SO LUCKY, to have more time with her, she says she's LUCKY too!
How LUCKY we both truly are .. and wish GOOD LUCK to you ..... malcolmsdreamgirl, Yes in deed luck comes in many different forms. My luck was shining bright when I met you. We quickly became friends and both have a common interest of sharing our love of poetic literature with the world of readers. You inspire me as I inspire you, sharing experiences and words of love together is what we do. Our readers are the lucky ones who read our living art, the pay back is that we both know we've gently touched their heart. Wonderful poem my dear fellow poet.

Your Dear Friend

Well done,
