The kids to be killed by American bombs in the coming war

Will be no less dead than those poisoned by Hussein at Halabja

They will not hear triumphant words of their nation’s rebirth

Their smashed remains will lie scattered in the bloody desert sand

For them there will be no new dawn

again, i agree with your sentiments... i must add, however, commenting on your U.S. soldier poem, that i doubt very many of our brave soldiers delight in killing, but must, as you so eloquentely put it, "blindly follow" their leader... if you cannot tell, i am no fan of President Bush... i believe there is something wrong in the abyss of his mind... something about power that rubs me the wrong way... that is just my opinion... besides, i did not vote for him... i'm Green Party... ::smile::

Thanks LadyDama, I understand that it will only be a few soldiers that are so brainwashed by their training that they just want to slaughter indiscriminately. (I wonder though if you have heard some of their marching songs in training about killing Arabs?) I am thinking of those who also scrawl their crude comments on the sides of missiles and bombs without the knowledge ever present in their minds that all war is awful and that this weapon may will hit a traget that is civilian by mistaken intelligence (happened last time) or due to flight error (these weapons are not quite so smart as they tell us).

Peace, ;D

Very short and true poem. i don't get why its alrite for Bush to kill Iraqis, but not Hussein. It befuddles me. Once again I loved this poem.
