for merely a day, when it is the
very force that fuels the sun.

How her tender smile and cunning eyes
seemingly deceive; implicitly unapproachable,
yet beckoning all in her wake to approach.

Her angelic voice misleadingly seems to
ring from heaven, yet she walks amongst us…
with heaven beside her, watching in awe.

And how it seems it is her duty
to lend the stars her supreme glow
for sailors, stargazers and poets alike to embrace.

And how could I believe in truth; if there
is but a single goddess who walks amongst us,
would she choose to be by my side?

I would have never thought it to be true;
yet when I glance beside me, there she is,
smiling…holding my hand, and my heart. [comments] => 10 [counter] => 534 [topic] => 2 [informant] => wizard [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 45 [ratings] => 10 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

This is a very clever poem...and slightly curious. I thought perhaps you were portraying this woman in a negative light, but it wasn't until the end that this was a dedication poem...perhaps this should be made clear in the beginning somehow, but I suppose it is meant to have an element of surprise? I like how you create her image in the form of an all-hypnotizing goddess. Like I said. Very creative...your crafting of words made it a delight to read.

Ah, the "sweet irony" of Love! If it not be, you have befuddled me. A gift and talent of the word "wizard". Beautifully and masterfully written, Paul.

Such romantic accolade you gift upon this woman...I can only hope you allow her to see all of this in your eyes, as you've allowed all of us to hear it in your voice...your words!
