leaves green and rich
full of colour and life
idyllic sounds like birds chirping their naïve little songs
and lawn mowers growling savagely at their thin, green enemies
the leather of the sofa is cool against my forehead
warm from playing tag with the yellow dog in the backyard
footsteps
they both come in
one flanks me on either side
two sentries, cold resolute and calm
for the moment.
she speaks first
her words are kind and gentle
clear and flowing
like the two salty tracks down her cheeks
bits of tissue falling from her hand like damp snowflakes
he bellows back
his words are hard, venomous
they slice into my flesh like frozen knives
burrowing deep, drawing blood
grabbing hold of my calm and shaking it until it gasps for air
killing my delicate, perfect childhood.

Haunting telltale write that. Sad and strained with emotional scars .Yes a delicate childhood life interupted by pain.
