What was it that made you change your mind about me?
At first you couldn’t care less
Now you show me love in excess
You constantly crave my caress
Flatter me with lofty gifts
A major attitude shift
From an altitude above the mist
You rain down on me
Every drop refuses to miss
I await your wet kiss
In moments of pure bliss
I wish
Oh how I wish

Was it something I did,
or said, or wrote?
Was it the short little note
I left
Waiting for your sad
Eyes to skim the page
Get the gist
With a flick of my wrist
The pencil tip
Broke off
When I skipped
Over the heart
Of it
I ripped
And tore it
To shreds
To tiny bits

Was this bound to happen?
Is it in the stars?
Buckles unsnapping
Clothing dropping
The night unraveling
Bed sheets await their prize
Counting sheep
Until the sunrise
Off beat
Feelings of complete
When life grants them a try
Dreams prefer to die
Then sit still in their seat
Waiting to cry
Sweat builds with body heat
Skin sung soft as a baby’s lullaby

When did you decide this?
Was I sleeping?
Awareness is misleading
Eyes peering
Over shoulders clearing
A visual path into what I am receiving
With a continual bath
Of warm water streaming
A ritual wrath
Condemns the sensual clash
The sexual mask
Of innocent touching
Followed by the heavy breathing
Is finally nearing
