An old familiar feeling
like a dusted box, Wooden
came up from hiding
in a sealed, tight condition

the wind blows a gentle breeze
a reminder of memories
as the preseason of the turning leaves
whisks thru my door step, familiar feelings,

I step back in, shut the door
and pray this moment will soon pass
that the leaves will do their thing, and fall no more
and the settled winter, will be here at last

yet this box, at my doorstep, wooden, and dusted,
sits here staring at me,
locked tight, sealed shut
I had forgotten of this memory

the pain, the haunting’s
when the dark season of fall, had fallen upon me
but I fight now, to not open this box of feelings
from it, my heart wants it to leave it be

a brave heart courageous, I decide to embrace
avoiding the temptation to reopen this box
I will push through the pain and fears I once faced
momentarily, facing them again, In memory of thoughts

only feelings, a deep fear, a faded memory
every year, becoming more faded,
and soon, they will be a forgotten story
until then, I pray as I have always prayed

that this will remind me of where I am to be
once was opened, a boxed precious gift
filled with trying, and emotional fears within me
of tormented dreams and thoughts I once lived

it put me to the test of life, of tears
as I courageously fought every year
until I over come, became stronger
and healed my own wounds and tares

now looking back at this wooden box,
I say thank you, for making me strong
for you have defined me In deed and thought
I have become a spiritual character, I dared to become

I am grateful it was something I went through
but now, I want to keep it sealed, out of sight
mark it, dated it, already used
an experience already fulfilled, don’t need it twice

I have overcome, once, will overcome again,
goodbye, dear memory
I have to chase my vision
for there is only one thing I see in this story

the goal line, for I am climbing
and when that day comes
that I reach that goal line of rising
I will have gone trough many more painful stumps

but they are only there, to challenge me
to overcome, define, and strengthen me
mold me into the art of God, he wants me to be
following his guide, I keep moving to he

overcoming all, a hero, of courage
I become a beautiful soul
as I dare to face forward,
unafraid to let God blossom me, and grow-

Wooden box

An old familiar feeling
