And in earthbound solitude should grow dark with fear,
Lest the high Sun of Heaven itself should prove
Powerless to save one fantastic tear,

Wherein thy spirit wandered by flowers
That 'round thy feet seemed but to bloom
In lone gestures through starless hours
When all who loved, left nothing to thy doom,

I believe that in thy hollow vale
Where thee might linger to attain
So much of Heaven's sweetest grace and shall avail
To lift the burden of remorseful pain,

My soul shall meet thee and its time forego,
'Till greatest love on both, one hope, one Heaven to bestow.

Shakespear himself could have penned no better. I love traditional excercises such as this-I tend to write contemporary poetry, for example-But I have to confess a secret affection for this kind of writing. It is a style of poetry I am very fond of, if not one I'm capable of mastering myself. Thanks as always,

larkspur

My sweetest .. this sonnet is, what I feel to be, your very best.
So completely perfect, in style, grace AND flow, (not to
mention the sentiment which is stunningly gorgeous!),
it puts the masters to shame.

You outdid yourself with this one, dearest Billy. Truly~

Completely captivated to no end, am I ....

The word "brilliant" is fast becoming over-used where
you are concerned .. so lets just say I'm floored by
the sheer skill and master which you have written this.

Always impressed, always humbled .. and forever touched.

~Breezy

Dearest Billy, I have neglected your page for far too long, and for that I apologise.

Though, it once again appears to have been my loss. I'm so glad I checked your page out again.

I just read a comment by Ken Moore which names you as one of the 5 masters of words on YPDC... I have to say, I agree with him.

Well done, Billy. This is a lovely write.

*hugs*
