(Free Grace)

He pled his case, he laid it out;
The purpose for life, he left no doubt.
I sat in awe, I was aghast;
the truth at last – it came so fast.

How did he use God’s word so well,
and with such ease free grace reveal:
In quick succession and not much time,
explained God’s attributes – so sublime.

From Eden’s garden to Pentecost;
how men are saved, how men are lost-
Adamic sin and the debt that’s due,
Christ’s substitutionary passion too.

Holy wind blows, dry bones to raise;
quicken a prophet from his spiritual grave;
Raise up flesh from it’s dust and dew-
Rescue Gomer from the slave block too.

Wonder of wonders, Pearl of great price -
that which differentiates men from mice.
Our Sovereign God, his eternal decree,
His amazing love, and his mercy so free.

Blood on the door posts, manna so sweet;
Blood from His Bloodstained hands and feet,
all laid out in an oral display ;
it blew my mind, took my heart away.

I’ll never forget that fateful day past,
When Pastor Ferrell Griswold too me to task.
He handled God’s word with a swordsman’s skill.
My spirit to raise, the flesh to kill.
