Array ( [sid] => 123756 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => This Is Where Jesus Stays! [time] => 2006-07-27 19:08:27 [hometext] => I doubt that this poem will draw a lot of interest. I dedicated this poem to our Parish Priest because I was so emotionally impacted by his manner ..... What is also very exciting is that he may publish it in a regular weekly poetry column. [bodytext] =>
I

So quiet and serene
Through beautiful windows,
shafts of golden sunlight stream
An atmosphere of reverence and piety,
radiates from within;
hushed spell of silence ushered in

I approached the alter reverently
The priests' extended hand,
Holding the Blessed Sacrament
The moment of spiritual replenishment
The gift of Christ's love resplendent

At the alter you bestowed
a loving connection, which overflowed
There with your warm and accepting presence,
with eyes open to your soul,
your body portrayed a loving reverence

My heart soared with the angels
I felt the Lord's presence
emanating from this place
With His loving spiritual Grace
I saw the love of Jesus on your face

As I partook of this Holy feast
I felt renewed and at peace
Such a loving encounter
with liaison of priest as provider
who's reverent love of Jesus, is evident as Presider

II

How lost I sometimes feel
Until back to origins I appeal
Where else does one go,
to deal with life and all it's woes

Admittedly, with the flock,
I don't always stay
Sometimes I get lost,
or go astray

But I must focus
On the here and now
For then is then,
Now is now,
And in between is where and how

This is where Jesus stays!

A wonderful work from the heart; I could feel the power of God, empowering the POET to write this wonderful piece of work.

YES dear friend, you said it aright
Only the PRESENT counts to be focused on.

"On the here and now
For then is then,
Now is now,
And in between is where and how
This is where Jesus stays!

Only thye Present must ber focused on
for God is in the Present,
whether in war or in peace, in accord or dissent. PRESENCE the God of the Presence He is.
Great write.

Perhaps it may not draw much interest ... but it will draw to it those that need it.

Thanks Terry

I found this very moving... your passion for both poetry and your beliefs being so clearly evident here. And this...

I saw the love of Jesus on your face

... leapt out at me. It's a fabulous line!

I agree with Nazzy's comment on this. It almost doesn't matter how many come/read/comment... I'm inclined to think that the extent to which it will move those who do may very well more than make up for a low read count (if there is one, that is).

Nicely done -
~Snem
