[hometext] => I wrote this as a kid, and randomly found it in the house. My first actual attempt at poetry I think...
[bodytext] => The sun goes down, the darkness spreads Through all the world. Every hand is still: There is no life And what was life is now forgotten - Cast upon the blackened sea, Never to be free. And as I watch, pale, cold and reserved, The water, void, yet full of life, Pulses in upon itself. Dreary trees upon the water's edge Plummet to their doom below, With darkness now so vast. The die is cast. From below the silent depths A lonely figure, shoulded in black Seemed to rise; a presence So unnerving I let out a gasp. But no sound served to break the intense glare Between him and I. And so, to die... From the shadows, never ending black, He stole the world, claimed it back From the living for the dead. His frame was slight and agile, yet large and full of power. But all that faded, and was no more, Nothing was ever more, consumed by eternal mist. And really ever did I exist?
