Prejudice abounds
Amongst lovers of meat,
Those who claim aficionado status
of animal proteins.

Red, white, the other white
Tradition’s big three
Monopolizing the grocer’s press.

Rarely room
For the little canned meat that could
The can that could
Sit on a shelf for months
And still satisfy youthful hunger.
Show me a t-bone that’s done that!

Show me a meat as slippery
has its own key,
Become a meal for the masses.
Application of heat not required

It’s not required to marinate
alter taste, season
beyond recognition ..
That’s been done for you
by Maple Leaf geniuses.

Geniuses created the bomb
destroy us all but
cockroaches and Spam
your only friends
company and sustenance
in the nuclear winter
in the bomb shelter

When the cans are empty and the pigs are gone what will we do?

I'm not ashamed to admit that this one moved me. I haven't seen a spam tribute on this site before, and this one's up there with Monty Python's Spam, spam spam wonderful spam!! etc.

A true story. Last year in Sydney's Chinatown, Chinese New Year, a stall was selling - wait for it - Spam backpacks. No, not meat sacks, although that would have been a hoot. No. A backpack with spam written on it, with a spam-monikered baseball cap, two tins of spam (ah those wonderful keys...), and stickers, and promotional flyers. I didn'tget one, and now - who knows? probably one of the hottest items on e-bay. brave post my man. People are missing out, not reading this.
