Array ( [sid] => 121647 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => MY FALLEN ONE [time] => 2006-06-12 09:27:46 [hometext] => A sad (perhaps darkish?) piece about a women's deceased husband and her plunge into madness, I wrote this in my head walking home and as soon as I got home I grabbed the first bit of scap paper (a computer catalogue) and wrote it down! [bodytext] =>
Once again
Thoughts drifting into space
Memories of the time we spent
Memory of your face

Back I return to my dark place
Were I go to think of you
It’s were I hid even when you were still here
But I guess you never knew

Your soft caress I recall
Hand on my lips, stroke of my cheek
I miss that feeling
Oh, that special kind of weak

They said we were not ready
That we would fall into a hole
They said our love was not deep enough
Yet, it possessed my soul

My love the one and only
Everyday its you I come to see
It is the greatest joy I have
Nothing short of death, itself will ever stop me

Funny how I use that word
Death- the word I despise
It is what took you away from me
It closed your precious eyes.

I will never utter a word of farewell
It will mean you are truly gone
I know it in my heart that I will break
If I don’t refuse to mourn

In my dark place, I see you there
I visit everyday
I never want to leave you
Though the doctors say, I am slipping away

I can not eat but with you
And nor can I sleep
I fear the memories I will lose
The amazing things I wish to keep

I stay my love, my life, my husband
Your ring in my hand
I will stay in the dark place with you
No one can understand

Karla Marie, I can understand only too well this feeling. I was there. Beautiful write about the most devastating experience I have ever known. I am amazed that you wrote this with such detail and feeling. I would have thought only those who have been there could write something like this.
Very sad, but an accurate glimpse into this most aweful feeling.
Your friend,
Butch

Absolutely wonderful portrayal of emotions. The poems that come to us when we least expect them to always seem to be the best.
Keep writing!
