[hometext] => A sonnet I did for a class.
[bodytext] => A clang of two swords in a chilled autumn day No words between the two had been spoken The field had been silent and somber as it lay. Might have been the bandit figting for token Or perhaps two champions searching for glory. Not a greeting word said or a question asked Hints that neither wished to be remembered in lore. The red gladiator's sword parried and passed, The blue knight's weapon charged in a thrust Maybe two sworn to revenge and to duel One's armor gleaming, one's made of rust. The fierce tug of war made neither the fool The battle could halt, could draw to an end But revenge is a game that no will win.
