holding my breath
remembering
you and me in the beginning
here we are now
full circle
bending time
to touch your cheek
if only I could
jump
higher than tomorrow
overcoming my fears
flying
into the face of the unknown
knowing I have nothing to fear
drop the familiar phrases
choosing your tongue
hailing a cab in the rain
leaving my shoes at the door
foreign soil
did I tell you I love you?
haunted by the words
hanging in the air
dead silence
retreating
eyes full of tears
wanting so much more
than life has handed you
make the best of it
she said
hurt in the bottom of your heart
but you do
