a yacker and a yeller
gives his a talk’en to
‘bout the ole work’en he had to do
that ole shovel
made of steel and medal
was his survival
out there a digg’en in dirt and rubble
no man knows
the hell of a farmers soul
unless its seen
and he’s a always work’en to get it clean
that ole farmer see Nile n all
tell’en his tale before his eyes fall
rock’en away
now you listen he’d say
this straw hat here
on my head I hold dear
wore it dawn til dusk
and when the straw was
a’ fallen I would add some more
a’ tak’en it from the hay of my horse
that ole horse lived till he wrinkled
he’a became see Nile himself
lived til he was fifty and two
that ole thing kept me a’ company through
every a’ pass’in long day
while the flies would bug his face
we’d have a chatt’en time
that ole horse listened know’in he was mine
I labored til my hands were dead
while wear’in my favorite shirt plaid red
now you listen here
listen careful n’ sincere
that horse and I made a lot of money
in all those years of a’ farming
my shovel still hangs in the barn
rusted and dusty its still a’ hang’in on
you take care of that shovel
and don’t go a’ chang’in it out
money is not everything
don’t spend it in a’ wasting
take this land
make it rich and golden
show’in nottun but a’ happy a’smil’in
soon im a’ goin to leave this life
hope’in to find my horse await’in for my
good ole chatt’en time
just bury me where the sun does shine
that should be your memory
for I spent many days in the sun a’ laboring
now here’s that money
I didn’t spend even a penny
I a’ shoved the beers away
and I’ a’took that money and saved
I am a millionaire
have a’ plenty to share
no need to be fancy
just take what ya need
I a’ came from the good ole times
take a lesson from my a life
so many a’ cars
so a’ many computers
easy a’ spendin’s
livin above your means
all I had was my shovel
my horse and I only had each other
didn’t drink a’ beers
my own cabin for, I a’ labored
worked hard for every earnin’s
so bury me where the sun rises
n’ taken my money
n’ invest’in it wisely
this ole cowboy is goin to sleep
good night sunny
see ya lookin down from the sun a’ smiling

I really like the way you wrote out the farmer/ cowboy's dialect, Adelle!
This poem is fun and creative!
Keep up the good work!
