And when you show movement then there’s someone who says they disapprove
What’s the point of seeing, if you are told to look away
And when you look away you miss the moment of the day
What’s the point of listening when you can’t listen enough
And when you give your full attention and you still muck up
What’s the point of standing, when you are told to sit
And when you are sitting then you are told to stand
What’s the point of frowning when everyone tells you to smile
And when you smile you get made fun of for the smile you own
What’s the point of employment when you never meet the quota
Then when you do you do not make your parents or siblings quota
What’s the point of working hard in school when you never make the grade
And when you do you get yelled at by your parents just the same
What’s the point of being happy if all you feel is sad
And when you are happy this makes someone else mad
What’s the point of walking, when your always told to run
And when you are running then you ask ”what am I running from?”
What’s the point of eating if you never feel full
And when you eat to your hearts content then you are called a pig or bull
What’s the point of having eyes of brown when blue is the one that nature should have gave
And if you had these eyes of blue then green would be the rave
What’s the point of asking when you are never told the truth
And when you are told then your question is stupid and aloof
What’s the point of awake when all you want is sleep
And when you sleep then you are told that you should be awake
What’s the point of being young if you are always told
“Your making a fool of yourself and you’ll realize it when you get old”
What’s the point you may ask well perhaps I’ll never know
But if I ever figure it out then I won’t be so low

a few of the rhymes sounded rather forced, but other than that, i absolutely loved it. great depth and insight, i was thinking the same thing....very nicely written, great rhythm.

Very thought provoking.
I don't like any one telling me what to but at 59 not many try.
Good work.
huggs, smiles,
