Layers of an archtichoke, slowly peeled
in great pain now, it lay open quite raw.
God the pain blinds my mind as I wake
in the night, the heart shall not be mended.
Beautiful and wonderful was the love of my
dear one.
Oh so full of life, he stole my heart away
My days pass by me in the sad music of life
Ever I shall pray my beloved's soul due peace
And ask God's blessings, and might he know how so
he's missed.
Great aching of my soul, left behind to make
children's dreams come to life. Even in death I
find loyalty and truth upon my heart from my
dear one.
My heart has come away from it's core. Ever,-
shall I gain balance, as the layers die ? Cruel
the grief that eats still away at the raw heart.
Alas, now I know why I shall wake at intervals
of night.
