Array ( [sid] => 116977 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => What a Differance [time] => 2006-03-24 12:43:52 [hometext] => The mercy of the Lord lives forever - This is a song about gratitude [bodytext] => I don't think I express my gratitude to God enough and to the ones who help me to keep my path clear of obstacles. Firstly I am grateful to god and I am grateful to you. Thanks for taking the time to read my scribblings and for your friendship especcially those who put up with me through the storms. While this song is about my gratitude to God I think I owe a debt to those who often read my poetry and put up with my rantings and ravings. Thanks

You heard my wearied cries
You heard my anguished sighs
You held my spirit high
because you are the one

And when the rain came down
o''re me you threw your shroud
You make me feel so proud
because you are the one

I don''t deserve
the gifts you give
that bring me joy
but I''m- grateful for them all

(Chorus)
What a differance
You made in my life
What a differance
You guide me toward the light
How I love you
cause of all you have done for me

I mess up everyday
I often forget to pray
I''m always going astray
but still you are the one

You pull me from troubled times
On me you make the sun shine
my hope you don''t undermine
because you are the one

And though calamity threatens
with you I am safe from harm
You have brought me this far

(Chorus)
What a differance
You make in my life
What a differance
You save me from my strife
and I love you
cause of all you have done for me

(Bridge 1st and 2nd parts)
And when my time has come and gone
and acts I did fade from man's memory

Acts of dilerance you have wrought
will go on ever being taught
Ever to be told is your story
of your great mercy

(Musical interlude and Chorus)

I'd like to hear your song set to music. The words are uplifting and tell of a great heart that loves God and is filled with gratitude.

Just an idea for the music on here, I changed a couple things but not too much. If you play the guitar it is in standard tuning and I picked the song on an accoustic. The G's are actually Gadd9 but a lot of people play the G that way any way and it just sounds better on this song I think. If you don't have a guitar and don't know anyone that can do this let me know and I could send you a copy. Good song I really had fun putting music to it.

Archie ... I honestly believe you write lyrics as well and in some cases better than many others I have read. Well penned sir. A pleasure to have read.
