And my cheeks sting,
One hundred bees attacking at once.
From the pit of my stomach,
Too far down to imagine,
A poisonous rush
Slithers up my spine.
While a thousand crickets hop through my belly.
In my chest is a raging fire.
Caught in the flames
Is my shriveled heart.
My legs wobble,
There's an earthquake under my feet.
I can't see.
The colors and shapes
Are so meaningless.
My brain has shut down.
I can no longer
Interpret
The purpose to this life.
I've reconsidered
And broken my dreams.
I've been slapped in the face by reality. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 197 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Drapes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
