Having to watch human antics day after day
Every time it gets dark it is just her way
Of turning her back on civilization and all that they say

But she is doomed to keep chasing her tail
Every time that she tries to run- she fails
Each time she unleashes her beautiful red fury
Every single time she deserts us in a hurry
She is given a moment of relief- and remorse
Yet she still has to keep following the same course

Always being faced with the exact same fate
To have to deal with the boredom of having to wait
Watching as the world below flies by
She can constantly be heard asking why

Her only break in when the clouds shield her
They are sympathetic so they create a blur
But then she is surrounded by her own blinding light
So then she begins to thrash out and fight
Streaks of her glory flash through the bland sky
The overwhelming raindrops are all the tears she cries
Her booming voice breaks the penetrating silence
And when the clouds part her smile is too intense
She tries to hide the evidence of her momentary violence

In the end of the day when we all go to sleep
Through out the sky she still has to creep
She cannot escape the day- to her it is endless
And sometimes she finds that moving on is useless

But then the moon takes some of her pain away
She shares with the moon the misery of day
And just because she knows there is someone else
It gives her enough happiness to maintain her pulse

She can feel the night at the edge of her conscience
That little bit of comfort makes her less tense
With that hope she can keep forcing her smile
And gives her the courage to stay for a longer while
