Array ( [sid] => 114458 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Dear Mom [time] => 2006-02-07 20:47:06 [hometext] => ...This was not from personal experience, it just kinda came out like this, just something out of my head and now and it's here. [bodytext] => So mom you remember this time,
I wanted to go to this party,
I begged,
I pleaded,
Till you gave up,
But once I tell you what happened,
It's too bad,
You let me go.

This party,
The social event of the year,
Anyone who was anyone was going to be there.

I wanted to be apart,
Since I was never truly "in",
Just like one of the those free-loaders,
Wandering around,
Waiting for that moment,
That ONE moment,
When it all,
Will just end.

You made me promise not to drink,
I kept that one.
You made me promise not to drugs,
C'mon mom,
I'm no dumby.

But I wish those other kids,
Had a mom as great as you,
Because if they did,
They would know what not to do.

There was drinking,
And you knew,
But you trusted me,
And for that I thank you.

It wasn't what it was cracked up to be,
Maybe that was because I was the only one,
Who was actually Drug Free.

The party came,
The party went,
But that drive that I took,
In the car,
Alone,
Was the longest I've ever spent.

To drink and drive,
Was something that you told me never to do,
I know that,
And the other kids,
They knew that too.

But this one guy,
Decided that he would try and be Superman,
And with that,
He took the wheel behind his old beat up van,
Drunk as can be,
...That was easy to see.

Though he didn't care,
Till his car,
Hit me.

So mother,
Now as I lay here,
On the cold asphalt,
There is only one thought,
That continously runs through my head,
Is the one that keeps asking,
What would I do,
If you were dead?

I don't have to worry about that for quite some time,
But with this awkward silence,
There's just nothing but time.
I'm in a state of shock,
I don't even know if I can feel my legs or not?
I'm just glad I'm alive.

And able to pass the time.
I just want to come home,
But for now,
I'll just have to be okay,
With sitting alone.

...Mom, I know you aren't reading this but I just want you to know that you mean more to me than you'll ever now. I love You.
