Array ( [sid] => 114001 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Footsteps [time] => 2006-01-30 19:07:11 [hometext] => Everyone who passes away leaves a trace in the minds of others.I was inspired to write this when my wife recalled the funeral of her colleague. She commented on how inspiring it was that so many people were there, each with their own memory of him [bodytext] => Where am I ?, Here now, walking by the long grass
Following footsteps, paths worn into place
Time no more than fleeting seconds
Life this sentence of a story incomplete

The course of my being I cannot foretell
Governed by fate, dandelion seed blown on the wind
Perhaps today will be the last
The final dawn to the destiny bell

When I am no longer, when body turns to dust
If the room does not echo with the sound of my voice
Do not grieve for me, though my vision be in shadow
The strongest flood of tears cannot wash away a memory

As I have been touched, so will I touch
My legacy the fragments left in the minds
The passing is never truly a passing
How can I die when I flame in your thoughts ?

When death takes your hand, leads you to the pasture
Take it gladly, smile and walk into the moonlight
No need to turn and look behind
You have already left your footsteps [comments] => 4 [counter] => 203 [topic] => 48 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 26 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

This is a very touching and a true poem. Lots of strong lines in it.....

This one is me fave:

How can I die when I flame in your thoughts ?

I think this is what they truly mean with, yer spirit still floating around on earth. People will never be forgotten cause there will always be at least one who remembers ya and who will keep yer memory alive.

Well done! Truly love this one.

huggssss,

Nats

Funny how I can hear that water sucking up in that green.. you know.. there is a lovely side to all of this. Not where our minds want to feel, to think, but our hearts, our souls, do not forget what we are made up of, and no, we are not to say, I am sorry.. but we are not going to be just .. only in pictures.. or books.. It is inevitable that we meet and leave impressions on those left behind thank goodness or it would be like never having been here. Some people go out of their way to impress...they really don't want you to forget them...This is a 5 pointer...can't figure those ratings ahead of me?????Your writing is articulated well, smooth and filled with true emotion.
