Array ( [sid] => 112975 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Deoraíocht [time] => 2006-01-11 11:18:02 [hometext] => Glorious parts of Ireland are given no respect by our leaders and that we as a nation will rise up for Ferry's money but not for the defilement of our own heritage. Its a kick in the heart and shamefull beond expression. [bodytext] => Deoraíocht

In the wastleand,
The wolves howl again,
In the hearts of the fian band,
no cowards among them,

Generations passing,
For the time moves slow,
Finn Mac Cumhal is waiting,
for Gaelic strength to grow,

Truth unfailing,
is lost in the wasteland,
it sets the innocent wailing,
and brings infertility to the land,

The Fian outcast,
In Eire our own soil,
In our faces the wind blasts,
With Unbound hair we toil,

Deoraíocht,
Shamed by desecration,
The legends lie untaught,
honor given away by our nation,

In the wasteland,
With Truth on tongues,
Strength in our hands,
the time of rebirth has begun,

We Nurture the oakseed,
and Rise to defend,
brace the faltering heart in need,
til we can raise a shout of victory again,

Over all Eireann,
and fertility to our lands restored,
put an end to this draconian Eire,
and the liminal places are preserved.

It's not just here in Ireland that humans desecrate and disrespect...but it does feel like it strikes hardest....beautiful write. Anyone who knows of what you speak can feel the blood boiling..

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
