[hometext] => Have not written for a long time so comments welcomed on my first effort
[bodytext] => I saw you late Thursday evening at the railway station Still playing pretty woman games For men with disguised names Reminded me of our first meeting at Sarah's graduation The day that climaxed with nothing still the same You clasped your diploma protectively as if to make a point While Sarah chose her gown You pierced my weary frown I chose the broader path as you handed me a joint You didn't just want a change, you stole her party crown Those snatched afternoons at the Spanish market I recall My bursery soon was spent Could not tell the pastor where is went Sarah got sidelined if I thought of her at all I no longer replied to the letters she sent I was good at first but never meant to last I fed you a dusty Baptist tract To which you never did react I held you close for fifteen dreamy months, time that passed too fast Then you were gone,I had to settle for that fact How I tracked you down I'd rather not reveal When I passed you on the basement stair I sensed you had ceased to care The change in you was really quite unreal I am still haunted by that vacant cocaine stare I wrote poetry all that summer to try and dull the pain Sarah had long gone away To where her uncle would not say I think of all the good times , it helps to keep me sane I wish you will find happiness, for that I often pray [comments] => 2 [counter] => 880 [topic] => 24 [informant] => TREBOR [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )
