[hometext] => Slightly mushier than my usual format, hope you excuse it if it appears sentimental
[bodytext] => A Child's Heartbreak I’m feeling the pain of heartbreak But it is not my heart that is broken. Although a second hand agony, An old wound is awoken. To witness this turmoil, So hard to bear, An offer of solace & comfort Is all I can share. My Baby, my darling, my poor little child, The torture & agony of emotions running wild. I recall my own first love and the tears as it ended. Having handed over my heart, in the surety, It would be lovingly tended. The precious gift of all that I am, Given willingly to the care of that man. To be rejected, abandoned, how could this be? How can I ease her pain, which is so plain to see? I would rather my own heart be broken, Time after time. Than witness helplessly, take her pain, Make it mine. Time will heal; I know this to be true. She will shine brilliantly, With a love that is new. But in the now, this is no help at all. To utter those words, Sounds like a tale so tall. I might as well be saying, “Let them eat cake”. When I tell her there will be and end to this ache. Her pain is her own, Not mine to repair. All I can do, Is let her know that I care.
