Nor did the moon
There were no clouds
Nor was there gloom

The earth knew no time
It was neither day nor night
From the sky there were no signs
It was neither dark nor light

The earth did not quiver
Rain did not fall
The birds did not sing
The cats did not call

The air did not move
The water did not stir
There was nothing beautiful
Nor anything impure

No earthquakes did erupt
Nor did flowers bloom
But everywhere around the world
There was a sense of doom

Where is Mother Earth?
The people cried in dismay
There are no signs
Of her being here today

She has left us
They did cry
Along with Father Time
How can we live? How can we die?

But soon enough God did appear
To say it was only a joke
And ever in the spring did people rejoice
And the winter never heard a groan

Illustrates well the hopeless and minute condition of man, in comparison to his Creator(s). I'm giving you an enthusiastic 4 out of 5 for this.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
