Raging in my soul
It’s force is so almighty
I have no choice but render it control

As love blossomed in autumn
With the falling of the leaves
I bled into the memories
Of my self-inflicted disease

As winter knocked me on my knees
I knew the time was near
Love had shown me its defeat
It screamed deafly in my ear

The current of all control
Crashed and thrashed about
It tore and stung my wounded soul
It gave me the ending that love
Is never without

The undertow of violence
The respite of the close
The broken glass of silence
Unmatched by any of its foes

Love begins abusing
What once was a sacred prayer
For loving is as losing
The same violence do they share

Now the current calms in pace
Its rage begins to slow
Though love may change its face
It keeps its violent undertow

...Love can be a double edged sword...there are many who can easily relate to your feelings at one time or another...

appreciated...

that was really beautiful.

"It gave me the ending that love
Is never without"

"Love begins abusing
What once was a sacred prayer
For loving is as losing
The same violence do they share"

amazingly worded. skittles.

How have I never stumbled across your work before??? Geesh! I thoroughly enjoyed this piece---well done! Damn near poetic perfection...The flow stumbled a couple times; in the fourth stanza, and then right at the end, in the final stanza too...I still loved this though! Great use of expression, and imagery. Overall, a very, very good job with this write. I will be sure to look for your nic in the future.

My friend I loved this the imagery was
powerful and totally drew me into this write. I
loved it especially how it was constructed and
the rhyme scheme wasn't too shabby either
lol.
