You think no one is watching so you break down and cry.
You have always tried to be strong for me,
You don’t want me to see the pain that you are in.
But I know.

When I was a child you were always there for me,
You would hold me when I fell,
Read me a story and tuck me in a night,
You always did what was best for me.
You think I don’t remember but I do

I am older now
I wish you would let me carry some of the burden,
I wish that I could ease your pain,
But there s nothing that I can do to help you,
This disease it has no cure.
I am helpless

I think about all the things that you will miss,
The day I graduate from uni,
You won’t be there on my wedding day,
You will never hold my first child in your arms.
You won’t be there for my life

As I sit there with you,
I want you to say more than anything,
It’s going to be ok
But it won’t be,
My time with you is so limited.
The only thing I was is for you to be better,
I want this more than anything in the world.
But it will never happen.

I see the tear slip slowly from your eye,
You think no one is watching so you break down and cry.
You have always tried to be strong for me,
You don’t want me to see the pain that you are in.
But I know
