a proud country the colours as red and blue as can be
they talk about freedom and to help the injustice in the world
but after this week their true colours unfurled

watching the death of the lame and the weak
all in the span of not even a week
the poor starving dying bodies clutter the street
families and children have nowhere to sleep

all of this money the richest land
and no one cared for the little man
why haven't charges of neglect been brought to sight
where is the poors chance to fight
they screamed and they yelled please help as they fought
bush was next door for the next photo shot
this might offend but i really dont care
until the poor get finally treated fair

a proud country the colours as red and blue as can be
they talk about freedom and to help the injustice in the world

How can the truth possibly be offensive? I am so ashamed of my government. The President of this country, the head of FEMA and the Governor of Louisiana should all be brought to task for their failures and they each did fail NOLA and the Gulf States. It has been the common people of this country that have taken charge and started getting some semblence of order and begging for help from the government. I believe all 3 should be brought up on charges of neglect of their jobs. Excellent write. Rita

WEll the truth is the best policy..and YES we have a ****** goverment, for America. I am a loyal American, but I couldnt agree with you more.! Too many who, think they know all, and do not take the time or what is right in front of their face. Good post.!!!!

Offend I think not,but I think you got caught up in the librial media and politics of the whole thing.
Mistakes wre made;yes,but the biggest mistake was by the mayer who blamed everyone but himself.He never gave a thought of evacuating the thousands of poor."were they suppose to walk out ?" and there were many who chose to stay.
Our federal goverment was there and ready to go,but because of flood waters couldn't get in. "A bottle water air drop?" the water bottles or cases would have sunk in the murky water.
I could write much more,but the meaning for you is to look at the whole picture before judging.
P.S. Neworleans is 67% black "No wonder we ddn't see many whites. Please check the facts before judging.
