Long drawn nails in ribbon rimmed
An empty dusty frosty street
Where two lonely journeymen happened to meet
Their brows so soaked in age and soap
Bubbling rays of shattered hope.
Nod to each other whilst passing by
They furiously try to blink their eyes
But alas, the lids stick tight
Where they can see each strand of light,
Burning away into small sockets
When they pull them out to drop in pockets.
Blind with rage and swollen hate
Steaming red and very irate.
But here I am, fellow man to travelling skin.
I fix the problems outside in.
And I wash dirty eyes and purify souls.
I repair each of their rotting holes.
But my own grow deeper, wider, and darker,
Until my feelings become a shark's purr
Erratic and violent with a heart of lead,
Fingers made of juice and a bullet in my head.
