going from place to place,
not sure where to pick up the load,
or what tomorrow he'll have to face,

As I a truckers wife,
I sit here and wait,
I knew this would be my life,
Which sometimes I hate,

Theres times I don't hear from him much,
Or I'll even miss his call,
It's so hard to stay in touch,
when hes on that long haul,

Hoping & praying he's doing ok,
A safe return home to me,
not knowing where he is today,
Or even where he has to be,

Longing for the day I can hold him tight,
and knowing the moment is brief,
even if it's just one special night,
To me it's a big relief,

I want him here safe with me,
not on the road in his truck,
Home is where he should be,
But he's got to make a buck,

Being a truckers wife is tough,
I live with the pain,
We've both had more than enough,
It's an emotional drain,

But off to work he goes once more,
Just so we can survive,
I say Good bye,as he walks out the door,
Crying when I see him drive,

I will send you an angel dear,
to watch over you, while your gone,
she'll bring you safe back here,
and make sure nothing will go wrong,

So I wait again, thats tough to do,
When I can hold you again once more,
Telling you "I Love you",
till you walk through that door!

I can only imagine how hard that would be since in my country we don't have this buisness, the farest place to reach is not more than an hour away. Still I felt with you the pain through those beautifull words

Dearset Christina @-<<-
...for me this brought back happy memories, I know it is very hard at times, but these guys are the best and worth all those moments raising the kids alone and waiting for his calls, I remember being where you are now and going through the same things and feelings, my husband was killed out there, and still some of the dispatchers called days after, and asked where he was running that day and why can't he take a load to where ever for them; in all my years as a truckers wife, I always knew happiness, and I only knew of several who never came home from the eternal run on the path to the moon, I wish you love, safety, wisdom for patience and a long life to you and your husband, and above all; I wish that you never have to write the poems I did..
hugs your friend,
Always Nessa
